CLASAX Junior Clarinet Day 2013- a great success!

The 10 students who attended the 2013 Junior Clarinet Day had a ball! They enjoyed working with clinicians Ben Snowdon and Fiona McKellar (a favourite piece was the “Imperial March”!), having tutorials on warming up, projection and instrument maintenance with Rachel Sergi, Daniel Moldrich and Glenn Foster (The Music Place). We hear that the students are already talking about what they will be doing next year!

Some comments from our participants:

I loved this years CLASAX Junior Clarinet Day. It was lots of fun. I think you should hold more of these each year. And if you can, advertise for it more more people can come and it will be even more fun! – Thomas

CLASAX Day is really fun.  You get to make new friends, and  you can play your clarinet for most of the day.  We learnt about how to build a clarinet, what materials are used and we also learnt about the importance of warm ups.  The tutors were very nice, helpful and they taught us new music – my favourite was The Imperial March.  There are lots of fun games, three breaks and a concert at the end where we showed our families what we’d learnt through the day.  There were lots of surprises in the showbag!– Miri
