Jessica Voigt is a young Victorian-based saxophonist who completed her Bachelor of Music Performance (VCA) HONS (Monash) in 2010. Studying principally with Michael Lichnovsky, Jessica has also worked with saxophonists Barry Cockcroft, Ian Godfrey, Lachlan Davidson, David Gardner, Michael Duke, Niels Bijl and Kenneth Tse.
Jessica has performed for 3MBS’ Live at the Convent concert series and was also featured in a recording of Katie Abbott’s ‘Egyptian Wish’ on her Sunburnt Aftertones chamber music CD. She has performed with various Orchestras across Melbourne and Geelong, including as soloist with the Stonnington Symphony and Geelong Community Orchestras, and as a guest member of the Melbourne Youth, Heidelberg Symphony and Preston Syphony Orchestras.
Jessica was the winner of the Geelong Advertiser Regional Music Award in 2008, which allowed her to attend European University of Saxophone in the South of France in July 2009.
In 2011, Jessica won the Powercor Star Search and has been accepted into further graduate studies with Dr Kenneth Tse at the University of Iowa.
